Conclusive note about the Generation Y IP

1And..

Today is the last day of the IP Generation Y in Liège. It’s time to resume my participation in this intensive programme and time to reflect about what i learned in there and what i have explored, experienced, created and praticed in those two weeks.

The first thing that i have to talk is the European experience, this is realy the most interesting thing on this tipe of programs. At the same time, i learned and i grow up this two weeks.

In this two weeks i had the oportunity to explore many ICT tools, some of them who i already knew and others totaly news for me, and learn how to use hem on my student daily work  and, probably in the future, in my teach work.

We explored also th group work and the contact with the work place – schools and students. I had the opportunity of experiment and explore subjects related with the e-culture and generations, and related with intergeracional communication focused on the teaching and on the relation between teacher and student.

We created many resources and presentations based on the ICT tools that we work during this IP, never forgetting the goals and the message of each presentation, though many times is not easy disconnect of the power of the tool in benefit of the message.

One of the high points of this IP was maybe the opportunity to be in contact with the work situations on the classroom and be able to apply some of the ICT tools and knowledge acquired on the IP in preparation of one class to the Helmo students.

What did we do Good?

Well… if someone ask me that question, on general my anwser would be: Everything! Of course some things more than others, but i believe that we explored on a good way the ICT tools, we can understand the relation of the different generations on teaching by the e-culture concept.

What can we do better?

Maybe we can create a better place to publish and share all the experiences and works and we could be performed better the initial programme.

Interaction!

The interactions between the members of this IP were good. This happened on the work groups and in the relationship, realities and experiences sharing and also in the free times and social times, of course. What could be different was the interactions between teachers and students outside of the calssroom and in the free times.

Working of this IP:

This IP works very good and i believe that the goals have been concretized. My expectations were surpassed and though the tiredness and the fever that i have with company in the last days, i go home with the sensation of mission complete with motivation and i will apply the knowledges of this IP.

Some things could work better, but in geral, my balance is very positive and i go out happy, with more learnings about the present subjects and i think that all the other students think the same from themselves.

2Conclusion

We talk many times in this two weeks about the applicability of the ICT tools in the schools and on the work of adapting the new generation of teachers with the goal to attend better the new generation of students – generation Z. Maybe i’m one of the few students on this IP who dont want to be teacher on the future, or dont  have this goal on your primary plans. Though that, i can do my best and put me on the place of one future teacher and i’m conscious about what we have to  do different to communicate with our future students.

For future teachers this IP means a lot. Here they learn how communicate better with the generation of students that they have in front of them in the future and how interact with them. I believe that all the future students of the members of this IP will be more understood students and with lessons more dinamics and better adapted to your characteristics.

To finish this reflection, i can point the benefits of this IP:

  • Interculturality
  • Learning
  • New work methods and tools
  • More knowledge about Generations
  • Be more prepared to teach
  • “Work on the terrain”
  • Try out of new tools
  • Intergeracional communication

… and many others

Just more few words to say thanks to all the group of this IP, students, teachers, organization team. All of you do a great job. Thanks.
